At my house we love these beautiful and very unique headbands. They are pretty, comfortable and adjustable!

Reason #845 Why I Homeschool
I homeschool for many, many reasons. Some are personal, and some are practical. Some are because of the specific circumstances of our family.
One more reason came to mind the other morning when we woke up to temperatures below freezing. We spent the whole day in our warm house enjoying each other's company, doing craft projects and baking delicious treats.
The reasons to homeschool don't have to be earth-shattering. Sometimes you just want to stay in out of the cold.

Half-Up Messy Bun with Fairy Clip
This is a simple half-up messy bun with a mini flexi called Fairy Aurora Borealis. This is probably my daughter's favorite clip. I mean, it's got a fairy right? What isn't great about that? It's also shiny and girly.
A Low Ponytail with Braids and Butterfly!
I love to find new ways to rock the standard ponytail. This is two mini-braids down each side pulled with the rest of the hair into a ponytail. I flipped it inside-out and added a mini flexi for extra cuteness. She's wearing the soaring butterfly purple-iris mini clip. I love the mini flexi in little girl styles. My daughter gets many compliments on her hair when she's wearing one.

Criss-Cross Braids
Cute hair doesn't have to be labor intensive. This is just two braids criss-crossed in the back and then wrapped around each other and secured. I admit, I am a super fan of the giant hair bows. I can do lots of stuff with hair, but I still struggle with getting a straight part on a wiggly head!

Living With Diabetes
Our family struggles with diabetes. It is a terrible disease that can seem harmless enough at first and then begin to creep in and destroy a life. Our journey with diabetes has included vision loss, loss of limbs and most recently, loss of kidney function. Living with dialysis is a whole other topic for another day, but I will just say now that it is a bigger challenge than we ever could have imagined.
Healthy eating has become an important part of our lifestyle since diabetes changed our world. We are not perfect, but we try. I make sure we have lots of fruits and veggies around at all times. We still eat red meat, but not as much. We eat a lot of chicken, and I have taught myself how to prepare fish. We try to eat a lot of the "super foods" like blueberries, broccoli, fish, spinach and kale, and I have experimented with adding stuff like wheat germ to my everyday recipes.
We've cut out almost all bread and pasta, and that has been partially because we are also working around a gluten intolerance. I've done some experimenting with gluten free recipes, but I usually find that it's just not worth it.

Lilla Rose
One of the main reasons I have started a blog is to have a place to sell Lilla Rose hair products. I ordered my first flexi about a year ago and, like many others, have become hooked. It's not like a typical ponytail band, and it's not like a regular clip that sticks out and can be uncomfortable. Instead it's a figure 8 shape that is strong but flexible enough to be molded around the hair. A small fastener then fits through the middle and secures the hair in place. It is comfortable, easy and beautiful, which are the reasons I love it.
The flexi is the reason I love to wear and sell Lilla Rose, but the brand has other great products as well. The pretty hair bands add a bit of shine and are adjustable to fit everybody. The hair sticks are a fun addition to an easy up do, and the flexi-oh is one of the niftiest ponytail holders available. Customers can also choose from bobby pins, you pins and even great badge holders that add some style to a boring work badge.
I plan to go through all of these products on the blog. Until then, I invite you to do some browsing.

Welcome
Our family has gone through many changes over the past several years, both good and bad. We are tackling some serious health issues that have demanded strength in us that we never knew we had. We have also chosen to homeschool, and we are discovering just what that means to us. In the meantime, my daughter and I are obsessed with fun hairstyles and "hair pretties" we have fallen in love with and have decided to sell. Our lives are a constant chaos of health concerns, dogs, kids, homeschool, hair and a thousand other topics that come and go. I am the mom who juggles it all.
